Along with the rest of Australia and, indeed, the world, we’ve been devastated by the bushfires ravaging the nation these past few months.
An estimated 5.9 million hectares of land has been burned resulting in a significant loss of homes, properties, businesses, livestock, native flora, fauna and human lives.
To give the size of these fires some perspective, the massive California Wild Fires in 2018 burned approximately 765,000 hectares, and the 2019 Amazon Rainforest fires that burned from January until October, burned through approximately 906,000 hectares – these Australian fires were enormous!
Our heartfelt thoughts go to those impacted by this disaster, so, we want to do our part to assist those who are providing life-saving support, relief and recovery on the ground.
So we have chosen Rural Fire Service QLD and will be donating 5% of the value of any new print job until 29th February 2020 to this appeal.
There is no urban fire service coverage in rural, semi-rural and some urban fringe areas of Queensland. The Rural Fire Service (RFS) is the volunteer side of the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES), and provides fire services to 93% of Queensland.
