Can I reorder without paying for a new cutting die?
The good news is if you are getting the hangers digitally die cut in low volume, there are no die making or tooling fees. For high volume runs, then a die will need to be manufactured (or you can use a standing die) however, once a custom die is produced, you will not need to pay again for repeat orders.
What is the maximum size you can print door hangers?
Most door hangers are 90mm x 200mm size, but we can print and digitally die cut anything up to our print sheet size of 660mm x 320mm.
How much does it cost to print a custom door hanger?

While we will still be using traditional methods for longer runs of die cut items for larger qtys, this new approach to die cutting is incredibly cost effective, with no need to spend hundreds of dollars on getting a new knife (or die) made for each unique new shape.
What Are Custom Printed Door Hangers?
Door hangers are printed stock that are die cut with a hole or hook at the top, to hang directly on door knobs or handles. Door hangers guarantee eye-level visibility at the point of entry, and are therefore an outstanding marketing and communication tool for the hospitality and tourism industry and accommodation sectors.
How are Door Hangers cut to a shape and what shapes are available?
Door hangers are produced through first printing multiple copies up on a flat sheet of stock. They are then die cut to size and shape. There are two ways to die cut these items:
- The first way, is the traditional method of manufacturing a sharp metal die, so that when pressed on the flat printed stock, the die will create precise cuts and scores. This method is used for high volume orders.
- The second way is using digital die cutting. This is a computer-controlled process, where the PDF die (with defined cut, score and perforate paths), is keyed into a program, that then guides a robotic arm with a laser along the programmed digital paths over the printed sheet. This method is used for low volume orders with many multiple kinds.
Stock and Print Finish Options
- Synthetic stock (Digi tuff pro) is our recommended stock for the majority of door hanger requirements, due to its durability being water and tear proof, and, it will last far longer than paper stock especially in humid environments. Adding a gloss or matt celloglaze finish further enhances durability and protects from grease and oil.
- For high volume orders, we can print these using rigid PVC plastic and other longer lasting substrates.
- For eco-conscious clients targeting sustainability-aware audiences, we can print on FSC accredited stocks (matt, gloss, silk or recycled) without celloglaze.
